We are very proud to announce that our Thermoplastic Composite Pipe (TCP) Riser for deepwater application has also been chosen by Hart Energy’s E&P judges as a winner of the prestigious 2021 Special Meritorious Awards for Engineering Innovation (MEAs).
The coveted MEAs recognise new products and technologies in upstream oil and gas that demonstrate innovation in concept, design and application.
Our TCP Riser has been developed in close collaboration with the end-users and our supply chain partners which has led to a TCP Riser product that:
• Does not corrode, fatigue and has a superior service life of 30 years
• Can be installed using currently available installation vessels, with only modest modifications
• Uses the most cost effective free hanging catenary configuration, without any requirement for buoyancy elements and requiring only 2 sections of pipe
• Has the smallest carbon footprint
This is a great result for our team – and the wider industry - and follows on from our recent announcement that our TCP Riser is being deployed by Petrobras and Shell as part of a joint industry programme along with our flowline technology. The four-year project aims to see both solutions being commercially available to offshore Brazil by 2024.
A big thank you to the MEAs judging panel and our extremely talented team at Strohm for developing an award-winning technology!
