Jeffrey joined Strohm in February 2024 as an intern during his studies at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, before being promoted to a junior prospect engineer role following his graduating. During his internship, he worked towards his graduation thesis, diving into research on prediction and process optimisation.
Before Strohm, Jeffrey's professional background included process optimisation at a municipal organisation and diverse roles at DHL, from warehouse operations to assistant management. He was seeking a company where he could merge his interests in business and engineering and Strohm stood out for its integration of office and factory spaces.
Jeffrey thrives in a culture of collaboration, where every day presents opportunities to learn. He starts his mornings with a coffee and a to-do list, tackling tasks like refining client proposals and analysing project requirements. “Strohm fosters a culture where questions are welcomed and support is always available,” he says. ”This collaborative spirit is central to my role, whether I’m troubleshooting project details with my colleagues or discussing technical challenges with the production, each interaction broadens my understanding of Strohm’s innovative pipeline solutions. I love that my role is not confined to my desk, and I often work closely with the various departments within the company.”
As someone who joined Strohm with no prior experience in the energy sector, he credits the company’s supportive environment for his smooth transition. "From day one, everyone has been incredibly patient and encouraging. Whether it’s a colleague explaining complex processes or my manager helping me take on new challenges, I always feel empowered to grow."
A standout moment in his early career was returning to his alma mater to share his workplace experience with current students. “It was surreal to be back, this time as a professional instead of a student,” he says. “It felt great to connect with the students and show them what’s possible if they join the right company.” By sharing his story, he hopes to inspire others to pursue careers in the energy sector.
Sustainability is a key value at Strohm, and Jeffrey and his team are mindful of the projects’ environmental impact, identifying CO2 reduction opportunities where possible. Beyond project work, Strohm’s initiatives—like building bike sheds and providing bicycles to encourage eco-friendly commutes—resonate with him and he appreciates the company’s efforts to integrate sustainability into daily operations.
As Jeffrey’s career progresses at Strohm, he’s motivated by the opportunity to gain real-world experience with the company’s products and take on new challenges, such as volunteering for training to be able to join Strohm’s field service group (FSG) for on-site projects. In his words, "at Strohm, every question is an opportunity to learn, and every challenge is a step forward. The collaborative spirit here makes growth not just possible but inevitable."
Outside of work, Jeffrey maintains an active lifestyle. He enjoys balancing gym sessions, runs, and outings with friends, ensuring he stays productive even on quieter days.
